Reading is something that as children (in America, my home) it begins as something fresh, new, exciting! But often, very quickly we are almost conditioned by the very people who teach us to read, to have a distaste for it. So in my teenage years I forgot the wonders of it and without even realizing what was happening, my dreams disappeared with it. If we allow it, reading stretches and expands our minds in very unique ways, so I believe. This is such a wonderful illustration of it.
Oh, and about reading, I've been in love with books all my life. Well, I must recognize I was a quite lonely child and perhaps that's one of the causes but I spent the whole day reading, so when I have to read some boring book in the school I was able to do it very quickly. I was lucky, they never made me hate reading, but I understand what you say. A boring book can be something terrible for a child or a teenager. I'm glad to hear that you've come back to literature whatever kind it is. You know, one of the stupidiest phrases I've heard is "You can't learn life in the books" (Or freedom or whatever). The funny thing is that usually the people who say that don't read. Of course you can learn that kind of things reading. And a lot more
almost to good to be true..
