Too much love by BeatrizMartinVidal Too much love by BeatrizMartinVidal
Illustration for an article by Gustavo about the nymph Echo.
She felt in love with Narcissus but she wasn't able to talk to him because she had been cursed by Hera. She only could repeat Narcissus's words. As expected all this ended tragically. She died of sadness with her heart broken.

It seems all the people I draw have an overdose of flowers latetly.

Pencil, watercolor and gouache on grey BFK Rives + digital

I love how the flowers comes out of her mouth, as if she's being poured too much water to drink and can't swallow all of it at once. And what's worse, she loved a man who only loved himself.

It really captures the story very well, I love the myth and this is a wonderful portrait of Echo.

Weird. I just told that myth to my boyfriend. O_o

Laughing at myself. When I read your description I was like, "Why did she use daffodils instead of the Narcissus flower? .... Oh, right, duh. Same thing." I just always think of Narcissus flowers as white instead of yellow. :)
